Frequently Asked Questions
Will Polycamp be clothing optional?
Not this year, no. I have heard from several people that Polycamp being a clothing-
optional event kept them away. I’d like camp to be as inclusive as possible, so this
year we are going with clothes.
What kind of facilities/activities will there be for kids?
The answer to this question is dependant on how much information I get from parents
about how many kids are coming, what age ranges and what their likes and dislikes are.
I can’t manufacture programming without this information, so if you’re planning on
coming to camp the sooner I know, the better. In general we try to keep all the families
with kids camped together and away from folks who are camping child-free. Workshops
and areas that are inappropriate for people under 18 will be clearly marked in the
program and signs will be posted.
It’s important to note that your children are your responsibility at all times. We’ll work
on having some child-care available as well as activities and workshops which are age
appropriate, but we cannot take responsibility for your children’s behavior or welfare.
What are the campsites like? Is there a dumpsite?
Most of the campground is pretty level and are either partly or fully shaded. All of them
have power and water, and a BBQ pit-on-a-stick. The ground is either packed earth, grass
or gravel. Yes, there is a dumpsite. See the site map for more info.
Will there be assigned campsites? How much choice do we have?
As to where people will be, we'll be keeping folks with kids together, folks without kids
together and pretty much filling the campsite in on a first-come, first-served basis.
If I'm coming by myself and/or don't own a tent are there any indoor sleeping accommodations?
The loft in the Lodge is not available this year. Lodge space is limited by floor space and time.
People come into the lodge early to set events up and it is occupied fairly late - especially
on Saturday night. Lodge space is going to be available first to volunteers - especially those
who are coming alone - and people with handicaps.
Polycamp will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. There is no way to secure
this area so use will be at your own risk.
How accessible is the site to the handicapped?
Well, it is a campground. Most of the site is grass and packed earth. The lodge, parking
and ball courts are paved or gravel. We'll do what we can to accommodate folks who are in
wheelchairs or in other ways handicapped. Please let us know what your needs are and we will
do what we can to make you comfortable.
